Dear Reader,
Thank you for reading this and I trust that you were attracted here for a reason. This first post is really close to my heart as I have always been contemplating deep existential questions in a quest to reach 'home' again. It will also set the scene on my viewpoint, approach and angle in life. I do not claim to hold an 'absolute truth'; this is my truth and it is my time to reveal it to you and you will choose if it means anything to you or not and if it can be of any help or not. My intention is to share and connect with others and why not help from an authentic place that I am constantly finding and rediscovering within which extends really high and low. We all have felt in stronger or lesser degree what is currently happening with our consciousness and consequently on earth. The whole old 'materialistic' paradigm has been crumbling and decaying for some years now and more information have become available to us regarding our true nature and our journey here on earth. All the security and safety that material goods were providing us for years has gradually lost its meaning. People are leaving well paid jobs to follow their passion, others have remembered a childhood dream and started working to make it happen, other try radically new things every day to better their lives and the list goes on. It looks like the existing systems and their well established constraints can not keep people within their premises anymore and people are looking for alternatives and jumping out for a 'better ' life. I can not help not to mention the enormous impact that man has it is environment at the moment. It is probably the first time in history that man acts like a gigantic beast that uses all the resources available to satisfy his needs. What previously has been a gain from an earned worked (food, fun, etc), has now been a 'given' that can be used and destroyed when he feels like. Man has been acting as the 'god on earth' at the moment losing touch with the sacredness that this and every world are made of. An animal, for example, has stopped being a respected cohabitant and possibly with gratitude a source of food and it becomes another order number in a restaurant. The environment is now being built to serve our constructed needs as opposed to being a respectful place to come and live into. That paradigm and lifestyle provide us with the assertiveness, confidence and strength that can be the 'kings of the castle'. That we can be very powerful and do create things (physically visit the Moon to name one). We had to become selfish and individualistic, we had to separate the 'goods' from the 'bads', the 'supporters' from the 'haters', the 'normal' from the 'abnormal' in order to maintain the existence of the paradigm, in order to assert ourselves within that 'chosen' collective identity. It is true that consciously or unconsciously we all have enjoyed the benefits of this paradigm so I am not holding any moral judgements on it. I feel that this is a question of consciousness and that is what the new paradigm is bringing to us (and we bring to it). There is a growing increase in the presence of our lives of meditation, yoga, healing practices (reiki etc), mindfulness, 'spirituality', 'awakening', empowerment, 'purpose', inspiration and similar others. An immense variety of course, classes, one to one sessions, methods, techniques, practices, teachers, student and so on. The new 'spiritual'/ 'awakening' paradigm is what I call the paradigm of Wholeness. The common and starting point of all the spiritual traditions (and religions) is the Oneness, the Unity, the ultimate principle of all existence which is that we are all one, connected (applies to all levels physical, emotional, psychological, mind, spiritual). In this paradigm there is no separation; we are all equal and interrelated; we all share the same environment (ok some people enjoy more the sun from others!), the same genetics, the same desires (we all want to be happy), the same values (we all want to be treated with respect, be alive and creative in what we do) and we all have needs (physical, emotional, spiritual). Also, all levels of our being are one, connected and equal; there is increasing evidence and proofs of the interrelation between how we feel and what our bodies do. For example, eating disorders are proven to be related to emotional needs and of course as the one level is affected then the impact is going to manifest in a physical level too. Since we got in touch with the 'god within' that loves to conquer the physical world, maybe it is time to shift our focus to more subtle and, if you want, delicate realms. Since the basic needs of survival have been covered (unfortunately not for the whole world yet), then we can treat all the other levels as equally important (everyone to be psychologically safe, live with dignity, express freely their beliefs and preferences, practice freely their own spiritual practices and so many others). Maybe it is time to find the 'god within' who accepts and loves equally all human beings and creatures on earth and chooses to live in peace with them. Maybe it is time to find the 'god within' who accepts and loves all the 'dark' and 'unwanted' sides of himself and others. Maybe it is time to find the 'god within' who can forgive himself and others for anything and offer the opportunity to learn. Maybe it is time to find the 'god within' who understands and embodies that there is no higher purpose than the one of living with curiosity, consciousness and love. With Love, Panos
